Nashua, N.H.--Athena Vertigans hit a GRAND SLAM homerun as the Cardinals completed an 9 run first inning on opening day! The Astros quickly regained the lead in the top of the second, batting all the way through their line-up, but the Cardinals weren't going to sit down and play in the sand yet! "Nobody can come out here and do it alone." Said Austin Borroto after his grand slam in the second, "We just have to play as a team and keep our eyes on the playoffs." Terrance Brandao went 3 for 3 with 6 RBI's including his grand slam to tie the game in the bottom of the third. "I doubt we'll go 17 and 0 but I'll take 17 tie games any day." Said Nicholas Nautiyal, golden glove first basemen. "I hope one of these days Coach Duby will take us all out for ice cream!" All and all it was a beautiful day at Robinson Road and everyone had a good time. Both teams looked great on the field and we look foward to meeting up with the Astros again on the 23rd!

Nashua, NH--The Blue Jays had it all the way. After spotting Cody Evans a grand slam in the first, giving a few Jays fans heart attacks, they managed to hold on for the tie at the end of the game. As a result the Cardinals walked away from opening weekend 2009 with two tie games. Who is entering superstar status? Well, right now it looks as though all of the Cardinals are going to the Allstar game! "Well, I just try to keep my eye on the ball and try not to throw the bat." Said Silas Fier after his grand slam in the second. Silas went 3 for 3 today with 5 RBI's. The Cardinals made some noise in the third with another grand slam off of Nicholas Nautiyal's Louisville Slugger. "They all look good out there, I am very proud of them." Said Coach Duby, "If they keep this up we'll have to take them to Haywards pretty soon." It seems like the Cardnals line up is going to be impossible to beat this season, batting all the way through in every inning. Another great day at Robinson road for the Cardinals! We look forward to meeting up with the Blue Jays for our very next game on the 9th.

WOW! What a game, it was a close one to the end...The Blue Jays Henry Grabowski and Brandon Metivier dominated the innings in the field, against some hard hit Cardinal balls, making a 1-2 punch at First and Pitcher making several outs at first base. The Cardinals were getting nervous when the Blue Jays took to there bats and Todd Amdorfer, Nate Collins and Lucas Dalomba hit Grand Slams to clear the bases in all three innings..It was an impressive sight. The Cardinals played some great defense and came back with a couple of Grand Slams of there own. The Blue Jays fans were very excited and cheering the team on to an exciting tie..When the boys were asked about their game Michael and James Rosetti said "We'll get them next time" and HI fives all around!!!
