Home Team - A's Visiting Team - Rockies After giving up a bunt home run to Brian Barrows in their season opener in 2009 the Rockes were hoping for a better start to their 2010 season. They got it with a win against last year's championship team. It was a very evenly played game as each team had 4 hits and 4 RBI's. The A's pitching staff combined for 10 K's Vs. the Rockies producing only 8 K's however, the Rockies Defense picked up the slack producing 9 put outs vs. the A's who only managed 4 put outs on the game. With the A's pitching and the Rockies Defense and the number of hits and RBI's tied, the scales were balanced and the game showed it. The game was particularly tense in the bottom of the 5th inning when the A's had the tying run on 2nd base and a man on 3rd with only 1 out and Brian Toupin hits a laser beam to right field. Cameron Paquette comes up huge and makes a web jem catch forcing both runners to retreat back to their bases saving 2 runs and a tie game. As for the game stats, Carter Cormier hit a 2B in the 4th and Nick Koch, Alec Juknievich and Anthony Yan added hits for the Rockies. On the A's team Chad Olivieri, Brian Toupin, Rohan Patel and one of the North brothers had hits.
