Sunday May 2nd, was one of the hottest days that I could ever remember for an early May Sunday. With the heat bearing down on both teams that day, the A's and Blue Jays came to play! It all started off with the A's, Matt Caplan's double which landed a two nothing first inning. The A's had some great pitching, Aaron Silva was throwing heat for two innings. Andrew Simard also threw some heat to make the game 5 nothing A's. The A's have truly been working on their offense, and all team members were crushing the ball yesterday. Pranav, Shrev, Anthony, and Kevin Morris were all crushing the ball. By the top of the 4th. Nick Stockman of the Blue Jays, was three for three and scored our first run drove in by Tyler Arnesen. Ryan Vermette,Tyler, Neysa O, and Nick all pitched six great innings for the Blue Jays, and this helped us secure a win that day. The Blue Jays also had two kids come up from Minors. Jake Smith, and Nathan ZAZA also made great contributions to help the team win thier second game of the season. Nathan has a great arm and helped bring in a tag at second base during the 5th inning. While Jake Smith made a great out at third during the 3rd. Hats off to Jake Meleedy who made two outs that day from second. All around both teams are coming into thier own, and we look forward to playing the A's again soon.

What a game! Sunday afternoon in 90 degree heat the Giants hosted the Cardinals. Both Teams started with strong pitching performances by Adam Robinson and Zach Finkelstein. The Giants got on the board first with some solid hitting by the top of their line up. After the 1st inning the Giants were up 2-0 but the Cardinals were able to grind one out to make it 2-1 after 2. The pitching held strong all day and both teams played well defensively. The lead went to the Cardinals after some base hits in the third making the score 4 to 2. But in the bottom of the fourth inning the Giants bats came alive with Spenser Durand, John Dery and Thomas McLendon taking a 5 to 4 lead. Stephen McLendon throw the ball well and got out of a great at bat by Ben Logu who crushed the ball just foul but Stephen painted the outside corner to end the inning. The Cardinals came back in the 5th inning with some bats of their own and regained the lead with some solid base running by Matt Frye. The last inning was a tension filled inning with a comment coming from the crowd, "this is like Red Sox vs Yankees". Today we saw a great baseball game played by young men who share friendships on both sides and they competed hard and everyone left the field knowing that they will meet again.

Going to the bottom of the 6th it was A’s 12 and Blue Jays 7. Even with A’s close Anthony on the mound the A’s knew 5 runs was not a comfort level against a team the caliber of the Jays. The A’s defense tightened up led by Sri Kumar to make some plays to save this game. Cam Bisson led off the inning and did his job to get on base and then work himself into scoring position. Nic slammed a double scoring Cam, Then Neysa, already a defensive star, became an offensive star with a big league single scoring Nic from second.
